EDUC 606

and language-related perspectives on educational processes; and taught skills
to analyze educational settings and expand strategies to address puzzlements in
student’s own practice.
A primary goal of this course was for participants to attain the knowledge and skills needed to develop an appreciation for cultural perspectives that influence the learning of all students. The course increased
participants’ understanding of inter-cultural perspectives and explore varied educational practices and processes that meet the needs of an increasingly diverse student population.
The Cultural Inquiry Process (CIP) and the CIP Web site provided a framework for achieving these goals and for
conducting a culturally focused action research study.
